Bob Stein, co-founder of ISASC (The International Society of Antique Scale Collectors) passed away on February 15, 2008. His collection
originally numbered 568 scales. Most of the scales have been sold; however, a few remain for sale.
Bob's daughter, Linda Loewenstein, will be selling the remaining scales and reducing the costs by a

Off the Original Listed Prices
- The
weighing instruments for sale are all postal scales (letter and
parcel). Featured are many sculpted
or filigreed in sterling silver; others are made of bronze, brass or copper; others have an
ornate base of inlaid wood, pietra
dura marble, crystal, mosaic, onyx or agate; still others are
leather-covered or embellished with malachite, Wedgwood, mother of pearl,
tortoiseshell, or buhlwork; and a number are brass, adorned with enameled
pictorial medallions. Each is one
of a kind, ranging in size from pocket scales half the size of a pencil to
large ones for post office or business use. In almost every instance, weights are
matched and/or nested.
